Latest update to 2020 Shows   03/07/2020

The NCS Executive’s aim is to if possible , hold both of our National Shows on our original dates with the Early Show on 12th & 13th September and the Late show on the 6th & 7th November at the County Showground, Stafford

We have been told that the local council have now extended their emergency booking of Bingley hall and the three other main centres from 31st July until 27th September. This means we can no longer use The Bingley Hall Annex for our Early show.

There is the Margaret Everton Pavillion, which we are now proposing to use for the show, but this is too small to house our normal early show with an average of over 400 vases, so we aim to remove some of the classes, after consulting all the exhibitors that have staged at our early National in the past 4 years. We would welcome all the exhibitors indicating if you are growing for the show, and what classes you intend to enter.

Our age profile is high, so some of you may decide not to attend this year, members safety is paramount and we will be following all the government conditions for us to be COVID 19 compliant. We have already decided that the wearing of masks will be compulsory at the show and during staging, even if the government makes this optional. It will most likely have to be a members only show to be able to adhere to the Social distancing criteria.

We are also having a marque erected near to the hall, for the exhibitors to stage their flowers, and this will also house our refreshments.

Being able to hold the show will still depend on the National restrictions being changed from the present, and no further outbreak of the Virus in the local area.

The late show will hopefully still be staged in our normal venue of the Prestwood Centre, this with staging in the argyle centre is of sufficient size to be able to hold our show and comply with regulations such as Social distancing.

We are happy that we can build the shows and be compliant, but at present we do not have any guidelines of what will be necessary for exhibitors and judges to be able to handle vases of flowers, and the associated cards and trophies.

There is no doubt that it is going to be a challenge to hold our two National shows, but with many local shows being cancelled, we are anxious for you to have the opportunity to exhibit your blooms.

We are waiting as late as possible to send out Schedules, as we wish them to be as accurate as possible.

We will be keeping you aware of all developments on our web site and Facebook.
